As part of the Arts Westchester “All Fired Up” countywide celebration of clay in more than 60 venues spanning a three month period, this exhibition took place in a magnificent landscaped nursery in Armonk, New York known as Mariani.
Since they specialized in landscape design, I felt it was a well suited location where experienced landscape architects and nurseryman could handle the large-scale sculptures of the three outstanding artists selected to exhibit: Paul Chaleff, Jeff Schapiro and Tim Rowen. None of them exhibited in a nursery before and were thrilled by the prospect of seeing their work in such a meditative setting. Heavy equipment was needed to install many of the works, and it took days to bring everything into its proper location. It was a unique opportunity to showcase these artists who work with clays that withstand outdoor northeast climates
